The facelifted 3rd Generation Honda City was introduced in the year 2000. The car featured some cosmetic upgrades compared to the pre-facelift model as well as the implementation of VTEC technology. The car was based on the same platform that underpinned the 4th Generation Honda Civic. The 3rd generation Honda City was introduced to be subcompact car that would slot in underneath the Honda Civic. The car was available in two different variants EXi and EXi-S. The interior of the 3rd generation Honda City compromises the use of dark tone plastic trim pieces throughout the interior and switchgear, the front, and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features on the car include a stereo speaker system with CD and Cassette input while the higher end EXi-S variant featured air conditioning, power windows, central locking, an RPM meter and a central armrest at the front. The overall cabin of the 3rd Generation Honda City is fairly spacious and dark due to the use of the black plastic trim pieces all throughout the interior. It offers a decent amount of interior space on both the front and rear and offers a good level of comfort and a decent level of interior refinement.
